Dear Oakley Parents and Guardians
Many staff and students have commented this week that they can’t believe how quickly this term has flown by and I agree with them! It has been a jam-packed couple of weeks and we are in the middle of departures with some students already away on School trips to Germany and the Gold Duke of Edinburgh award in Keswick. Others are preparing to stay on for the revision course over the next few days.
Last week, the Law Society team competed in the SJC Schools Mock Trial Competition and were delighted to achieve the highest score out of 5 teams, gaining them a place in the final. Giselle J and Milla S were congratulated in Routh Assembly.
Well done to Aleks, Shristi, Brisha and Tiffany for representing us so well in the Junior House Volleyball competition.

The Senior team won their competition – congratulations to Nila, Petya, Nela and Arina!

Mrs Pugh organised our annual Easter Egg Hunt in Oakley on Wednesday and there was tough competition as the girls searched the House. Lots of smiles all round:

Thank you to Alvina and Trissie who helped to support the Mothering Sunday in Chapel two weeks ago. In Oakley, we also showed our gratitude to the best House Mother, in our opinion, Mrs Pugh:

We managed to squeeze in a House breakfast last week which was the treat at the end of a busy week:
It was wonderful to see Rugile, Esinam, Arina and Petya perform on Cobham stage in the rather harrowing ‘Be My Baby’ by Amanda Whittington. The strength of their unified presence was a powerful interpretation of the female experience:

Our Senior netballers put on a brave performance in some glorious sunshine. Thank you to Celine, Clara, Ibby, Esinam, Zoe, Tanvi, Florence and Greycious. I’ve never heard such laughter on the courts – for some girls this was their last time playing netball at School and a lot of fun was had:

Our end-of-term Oakley House Assembly celebrated your daughters’ successes and achievements over the past 11 weeks:
Most Commendations: Anoushka (L4)
Tutees of the Term: Victoire (L4), Tiffany (U4), Paloma (Vth), Kerron (Vth), Tajvy (L6) and Natalie (U6)
House ties were awarded to Sophie, Nandy, Kusong, Norah, Kristy and Amy. In the 6th form, House Colours were awarded to Esinam, Sarah, Florence and Winnie. Well done, girls, for representing Oakley so well.
Mark reading was held this morning in the Arena and it was great to see many Oakley girls being recognised for their achievements and awarded School Colours and Caps.
The 51勛圖厙 Service Award went to Olivia Nural. The Headmaster had these words to share with the School: “This term we recognise a pupil who has shown outstanding commitment to their Service activity. When visiting the residential homes, this pupil often works with an elderly lady who has had a stroke and who finds it hard to speak and write. The pupil helps her to write and gently encourages her to do the crossword, modelling the letters and suggesting improvements. Once, having missed the bus due to another commitment, the pupil walked to the residential home rather than miss her visit. Her dedication is unmatched and we are so proud to award this term's 51勛圖厙 Service award to Olivia Nural.”
Well done, Olivia – this makes us very proud of you.
In a recent CCF day of shooting. Sai-Nam Panyasiri was commended; she shot a 50mm group size at 100 metres, quite an achievement.
In recognition of a sustained commitment, loyalty and excellent standard of performance for Badminton the following were awarded their school cap:
Alvina Chui
Trissie Wong
Sai Nam Panyasiri
For recognition of sustained commitment to Football alongside a high level of performance, the following were awarded their major school colours:
Nila Tabe
Ibukun Okeowo
The following were also commended:
Nandy Panwar
Anoushka Gurung
Seline Wang
Also in football, the Nicholson-Abraham trophy, for the Girls’ Football Player of the Year, is awarded to someone who has been outstanding, on and off the field, over two seasons of 1st XI football. Always playing to win and encouraging of all, very well done to Nila Tabe:

The following girls were commended for their contribution to netball this term:
Lacey Sutton
Emily Shaw
Sophie Tang
Ella Trow was commended for her contribution to swimming.
In table tennis, Jessica Guo was commended for her contribution and Seline Wang won Player of the Year!
For recognition of their excellence and commitment to Volleyball over the last three years the following were awarded their minor school colours:
Petya Lazarova
Arina Atnasheva
… and Nila was on stage again to be awarded her school cap!
Watching these girls receive their awards was a great end to the term but it was also lovely to see the support of their peers and the pride of those around them who shared in their successes.
Wishing you all a Happy Easter and I look forward to welcoming your daughters back in April.
